Our favorite sustainable brands for kids

Marine Nantois

Did you know that it takes 7,570 liters of water to produce one pair of jeans, equivalent to one person's water consumption over 7 years? The fashion industry's impact is colossal, accounting for 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions, exceeding the combined emissions of all international flights and maritime shipping.

Children grow up fast, and their wardrobes need constant updates to keep up. Here are a few alternatives to impulse-buying at H&M: eco-design, upcycling, second-hand, rentals, and unisex clothing passed between siblings, cousins, and neighbors.

We present our selection of conscious brands that will lighten your budget, your mental load, and your carbon footprint!

Kidstorie, is the choice for high-end second-hand children's clothing, to evolve in a more responsible world. This month, we're sharing our three favorite pieces: a Givenchy pajama set, a Petit Bateau coat and an Agnes B sweater.

Bandits à la crème, offers a joyful and delightfully nostalgic matching mom-and-child wardrobe. Two years ago, two school friends, Juliette & Domitille, launched a children's clothing brand that reflects their style. The pieces are 100% cotton at the fairest possible price. At Bandits à la crème, the magic formula for a sustainable wardrobe is based on quality materials and reasonable, responsible production.

MotherWood, is a sustainable nursing-wear brand committed to the well-being of breastfeeding mothers, following their philosophy "Relaxed Mom = Happy Baby." The brand also supports women through its network of experts in complementary fields to support their breastfeeding wellness journey.

Poule Party, a genuinely eco-responsible brand of caps, bucket hats, and glasses cords, stands out from the greenwashing that often clouds the market. Among their products, of note is this glasses cord made of 100% Œko-Tex certified organic cotton.

And our favorite brand for shoes for both kids and adults…

Veja, creates sneakers differently, mixing social projects, economic justice, and ecological materials. VEJA uses Brazilian and Peruvian organic cotton for the canvas and laces, Amazonian rubber for the soles, and various innovative materials made from recycled plastic bottles and polyester. We love their kids' selection!
