Our local commitments

Madagascar is the 4th poorest country in the world. At present, it is one of the most deforested countries in the world. Mangroves help to sequester large amounts of CO2 and restore the island's unique biodiversity. 80% of the fauna and flora are endemic, meaning that they cannot be found anywhere else.

Our approach is to educate local people on sustainable agricultural practices. We provide them with the resources and knowledge necessary to benefit from a stable economic income while participating in the reforestation of the island.

Bôndy is part of the AFR100 initiative (African Forest Landscape Restoration Initiative) whose goal is to restore 100 million hectares of deforested and degraded landscapes in Africa by 2030.
